You may remember, at the end of last term, being constantly badgered to fill in the NSS, or National Student Survey. The curious of those among you may be wondering what happens to the results of this survey that is impressed upon you. Universities up and down the country wait with baited breath to find out the results which are then further embargoed for a few weeks until we are allowed to share them with the world.

It's finally time to shout about our results, and according to your guys, we're pretty good!

Of course, the question we get more excited about, is the one about your Union (or in the case of last year, your Guild), and so we are thrilled to see that we have soared 24 places up the league table in that aspect! We're already working on ways to improve this year, so that next year's results are even better!

The University obtained the top figure for Applied Arts; Education and Childhood Studies; Health, Wellbeing and Community; Occupational Therapy, and Youth and Community Work.

Computer Game Development (MComp) and Housing and Sustainable Communities Studies also achieved 100% over the combined years 2014/15 and 2015/16.

Across the board, up to 40 subject areas attained a score of 85% and above.

Overall, the institution increased student satisfaction by 5% points to 85%, and was ranked top in Wales for assessment and feedback, timetabling, building confidence and personal development.

Wrexham Glyndwr was also second in the country for advice on choices and study support, and saw a rise in satisfaction in communication and personal development.

Vice Chancellor, Professor Maria Hinfelaar, said the positive news comes at a busy time, as students prepare to begin and continue their studies in north east Wales.

“To see so many areas achieve 100% and above the national average is heartening and gives a positive message to prospective students and those joining us in the coming weeks,” said Professor Hinfelaar.

“The 5% points increase in overall satisfaction is very welcome news and shows how hard staff are working to further improve the student experience.

“I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and focus on ensuring the student is at the heart of everything we do here at Wrexham Glyndwr University.”
