Hours: 38 - 40 per week (30 weeks of the year, term time)

Rate of Pay: £9.50 and hour, rising to £10.00 and hour upon succesful completion of probation period.

Contract: This is a fixed term contract until December 2020 with the possibility of extension.

Are you looking for an interesting, challenging and fun role within hospitality? Then look no further because we are hiring! The Students' Union Bar 'The Lazy Lion' is nestled in the heart of the university campus and is a place for our students and the general public to relax, enjoy a drink, socialise and grab a slice from our pizza kitchen.

The bar is open Monday - Friday 11:00 - 22:30 as well as hosting private events at weekends. The Supervisor role will involve predominantly daytime shifts but you will be expected to work some key evening events. However we can be flexible with working patterns in line with the operating pattern of the venue.

The role of Venues Supervisor will be hands on and will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of the space, driving the offer forward, supporting the staff team, ensuring compliance and coordinating bookings. This is a perfect role for an existing bar supervisor or someone with bar experience looking to take the next step in the hospitality trade, as it is a real opportunity to learn and develop in a diverse and exciting environment.

Become A Trustee


We currently have vacancies on our Trustee Board for 2 student Trustees and 1 external Trustee.


This is a great opportunity to join our small but mighty team as we look ahead to developing a brand new strategy, building and ambition for the future. Our Board of Trustees played a crucial part of developing our first strategy which you can view HEREWe need people who are passionate about the power of SUs to join our Board and help us to deliver even more for the students of Glyndwr.


We registered as a charity in 2016 and in three short years we have gone from a Guild to a Students' Union, won two national awards and secured our place as 17th highest scoring SU in the UK in the National Student Survey. But we won't be stopping there. We know we can always do more for our students, and we need the best people in order to do it.


What Do Our Trustees Do?


The Board of Trustees are responsible for the strategic and financial wellbeing of the Students' Union. Specifically, the Board have a duty to ensure:

1.      That everything we do benefits the students at Wrexham Glyndwr. As well as monitoring what the SU is doing now, the Trustees are responsible for ensuring that we will continue to benefit future generations of Wrexham Glyndwr students.

2.      That the SU remains financially solvent. If the SU is to carry on benefitting students, it must have the money both in the short and long term to do this. For example, the Trustees have to approve all significant items of spend and the annual budget.

3.      That the SU doesn't break any laws or regulations relating to the work that we carry out.

The Trustees meet 5 times per year.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for creative and knowledgeable volunteers who are able to dedicate time and energy to steering our SU in the right direction.

We are particularly interested in adding the following skills to our Board:

  • HR / People Development
  • Marketing / Communications / PR
