What Are Course Reps?

Course Reps are student volunteers who collect feedback from students on their programme and work with staff to improve the overall student experience.

Course Reps help identify and address issues

  • Assessment and feedback
  • Timetabling
  • Facilities
  • Learning resources
  • Module experience

Course Reps also share what’s working well, celebrating successes and helping departments understand what students value.

Frequently asked questions

How do I become a Course Rep?

Any student can stand. Let your Programme Leader know you're interested- they’ll run an election and pass your details on so you can start training.

What does a Course Rep actually do?

Course Reps listen to their peers, gather feedback, and share it with staff through platforms like Unitu and Student Voice Forums (SVFs). They help ensure student views shape improvements on their course.

How do Course Reps gather feedback?

Most feedback is collected through Unitu, where Reps can escalate posts to staff. Reps also attend SVFs to discuss themes, updates, and any additional issues raised by students.

What training do Course Reps receive?

Reps complete online training, plus optional Unitu training modules and video resources. You’ll be contacted with training details once elected.

Are there any extra opportunities?

Yes. Course Reps can take part in a free 20-credit Advocacy module, which appears on your transcript. For more information, contact: ben.sanders@wrexham.ac.uk
