Netball win

In their final game of the season, Wrexham 1sts beat Bangor 3rds to cement their bid for promotion to the next league in the UK's national governing body for higher education sport, also known as BUCS (British University & Colleges Sport).

The final score on the day was 55-22, where Team Glyndwr put on a true champions’ performance to aptly relish the occasion. While the pressure was sure to have mounted on the Team, it soon became evident that this would not affect their ability to pull off a result that oozed solid teamwork and playing skill on the court.

Team Captain, Caitlin Jones, commended the efforts of the whole team, adding: "I feel we played amazing and I'm just so proud of everyone!

"Throughout the whole season, everyone's given everything and all the ones that played today have been at training every week. I think we really deserved it."

Wrexham Students’ Union extends a huge congratulations to every single player who made significant contributions to the Team; our Women’s Netball Team stood undefeated in every league game this season!

The all-important fixture attracted many spectators to pack out the seating capacity in the Sports Centre. Leigh Griffin, Chair of Wrexham University’s Board of Governors, was one of the attendees who came to show his support. He said: “It’s great to watch our ladies gain promotion with a comfortable win over a good Bangor side.

“I really admired their skill, professionalism and team-spirit and look forward to supporting them in a higher tier. Here’s to Team Wrexham! Pencampwyr/Champions!”

We can't wait to see the team go again next season!
