Hi, I'm Hafsa Ajmary Farju, your Vice President of Wrexham Students' Union!

I’m proud to be serving as your current Vice President, and even prouder to share that I came to Wrexham from Bangladesh as an international student. My journey began with a passion for learning and a deep desire to build community and now, I have the honour of representing the very student body that welcomed and inspired me.

A future rooted in student voice

When I first arrived at Wrexham University, I never imagined I’d one day have the opportunity to serve in a role that empowers me to uplift student voices. Over the past year, I’ve taken part in exciting initiatives, from mentoring and student engagement to leading the Living Lab sustainability project. These experiences shaped my leadership, deepened my empathy, and gave me insight into the diverse needs of our student community.

Being elected as Vice President is a privilege I carry with pride. It reflects our shared belief in inclusive leadership, in championing underrepresented voices, and in building a Students’ Union that truly listens, supports, and leads with you — not just for you.

What this role means to me

To me, being Vice President is more than a title. It's a promise to advocate for your rights, stand up for your wellbeing, and make sure your voice is heard in every conversation that affects your student experience.

I’m here to listen, to learn, and to lead with integrity.

Whether it’s addressing cost-of-living challenges, improving wellbeing support, creating more accessible and inclusive spaces, or continuing our sustainability mission — I’m committed to making a meaningful difference alongside you.

My goals for the year ahead
 

Here are the key areas I’ll be focusing on during my term:

• Representation & Inclusion: Supporting all student groups, especially international, commuting, mature, and underrepresented students, so that everyone feels heard and valued.
• Wellbeing & Support Services: Promoting better access to mental health resources, peer networks, and wellbeing support.
• Sustainability & Student-Led Change: Building on the Living Lab and other green initiatives to foster environmental awareness and action.
• Career & Personal Growth Opportunities: Working with the University and SU to provide skill-building, internships, and leadership opportunities beyond the classroom.
• Stronger Communication & Transparency: Making it easier for students to know what the SU is working on, and how to get involved.

To every Wrexham student reading this, this is your SU. My inbox and door are always open. Whether you want to raise a concern, suggest a new idea, or just have a conversation, I’m here for you.

I’m thrilled to be working alongside President Freya and the whole SU team to help create a student experience that is empowering, inclusive, and filled with opportunities.
