Wrexham Students’ Union is gearing up for our upcoming Student Elections, and this is your chance to have a real say in how your university experience is shaped.

Every year, students elect representatives to speak up on their behalf, lead campaigns, and work with the University to improve student life. Whether you care about academic experience, wellbeing, sustainability, equality, or life on your course, these elections are one of the most direct ways to make your voice heard.

Why should you get involved?

Being involved in SU elections isn’t just about politics, it’s about representation, change, and opportunity. Voting ensures that the people representing you understand the issues that matter most to students. Standing as a candidate gives you the chance to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and make a tangible impact on campus.

No previous experience is needed to run for a role. Full training and ongoing support are provided, so all you need is enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to speak up for your peers.

How can you take part?

There are three main ways to get involved:

· Nominate yourself for a role and run in the elections

· Recommend a friend who you think would make a great representative

· Vote during the voting period and help choose who represents you

All nominations and voting take place online through the SU Website Elections page, making it quick and easy to get involved wherever you’re studying.

When is it happening?

· Nominations open: February 4th

· Nominations close February 26th

· Voting opens: March 9th

· Voting close: March 12th

· Results: March 13th

Exact dates and role details will be shared soon across SU channels, so keep an eye out!

Want to know more?

If you’re curious about running, want help choosing a role, or just have questions about how it all works, the Students’ Union team is here to help. You can drop by the SU, attend an info event, or get in touch directly.

Your voice matters, and the elections are your chance to use it.
