Early this week, I experienced what every student dreads: I lost my phone on campus. In those frantic moments, panic and frustration took over, and I felt completely out of control.
But what happened next reminded me why our campus community is truly special.
When I reported the incident to our campus security office, I was attended to by a team of dedicated female security officers who immediately sprang into action. With calmness, empathy, and professionalism, they reassured me and coordinated a swift response to help locate my phone.
Within a short time, they succeeded, and my phone was safely retrieved.
Beyond the recovery itself, what touched me most was how they handled the situation. They met my anxiety with understanding, my fear with kindness, and my panic with unwavering composure. Their approach reminded me that women in security are not only protectors but also pillars of empathy and strength within our community.
As the Student Union’s Women’s Officer, I want to publicly express my heartfelt gratitude to these incredible women. Your work often happens behind the scenes, but your impact is deeply felt. Thank you for embodying excellence, compassion, and courage, and for proving that security is just as much about heart as it is about vigilance.
To every female member of our campus security team, thank you for showing us that leadership, care, and strength come naturally to you. You make our campus a safer and kinder place for all of us.
