It’s fair to say that I’m a regular art gallery-goer and enjoy visiting museums wherever I go. It may also be worth mentioning that I (Elissa) have completed both my BA and MA degree at Regent St. school of art and design, so I COMPLETELY get how much hard work (and healthy stress) that goes into making the final year degree show as impressive as it is!
I’ve already been to see the exhibition this week, and want to encourage you all to go and take a look yourselves! If you didn’t know already, the final year degree show is based at Regent St. campus, in a beautiful grade 2 listed building. Students based on the University’s’ main campus only have to take a 5-10-minute walk into town to reach it!
The work is displayed everywhere, from the foyer as you enter, to the studio spaces and through the corridors. There’s something for everyone here, from sculptures and large scale 3D installations to painting, video and illustration. That’s not all of it either, as many creative students have enjoyed experimenting with more than one discipline.
The real value comes from going to see the final degree show yourself, and enjoying the experience in your own unique way. That’s the beauty in visiting any exhibition, where the art can only be fully realised when observed/heard/felt in person. If you’re lucky enough to meet any of the artists and designers involved in this year’s show, wish them good luck for their results!
The final degree show at Regent St. campus, Wrexham Glyndwr University is currently open to the public and runs until 14th June 2019.
