The visit allowed me to gather evidence on how students use our services, which can be used in our Student Submission to the Quality Enhancement Review later in the year. If you would like to know more about the QER, please click here.
On the day of the visit, I held a focus group with roughly 10 students, all of whom are studying either an Undergraduate Degree in Business, or an MBA with Wrexham University. This means that they learn the same content as students studying on the Wrexham Campus, but their lectures are held overseas and taught by SHRM lecturers. It was great to find out that despite the distance between Wrexham and Singapore, these students are aware of the support they can receive from the SU through our Advice Centre and Student Voice services.
During the focus group, students were asked what their favourite thing about being a Wrexham University student is. One student answered: “The passion of the lecturers makes lessons engaging and keeps me motivated to learn”.
I also had the opportunity to go on a campus tour. The campus consists of one building which is 6 stories high, including 2-3 classrooms on each level as well as a small library and a kitchen for practical lessons of their hospitality courses. Below are a few photos of their campus:
