Top 5 learning resources at wrexham uni

A learning resource is a material or tool used for learning, teaching and assessing, and research.

Here at the University, there are many physical and digital resources available to support your studies and enhance your learning experience. 




We wanted to share a bit more about our learning resources to ensure that our new and returning students are up to speed on what resources the University has to offer. Check out the top five learning resources below:

1. The Library  

The Library on the Plas Coch campus has over 60,000 books to support your academic study. The collection covers all subject areas as well as study skills and fiction. There are also specialist collections at Regent Street – art and design, St Asaph – nursing, and Northop – animal science and veterinary nursing.  
 

2. Learning and Digital Support Team

The Learning and Digital Support Team is here to support you throughout your time at Wrexham University, offering support and guidance on a wide range of academic skills: 
 

- Using the library and finding information 

- Support with logging in 

- Wi-Fi and tech queries 

- Academic writing and referencing 

- Navigation Moodle 

- Using Microsoft 365 
 

You can find them at the Library & Student Support Centre.
 

3. Resource Finder – Library Catalogue  

Resource Finder provides access to Wrexham University’s online collections – eBooks and eJournals. Use it to find relevant academic information to support your assignments.  
 

4. LibGuides

Our Library Guides include all the information you need to know to support your study at Wrexham University, including library opening times and how to get IT support. 


On the Learning Skills pages, you will find information on:

- Studying at university 

- Academic writing 
 

Digital Learning has guides on: 

- Using Microsoft 365 

- Assignment submission 

- LinkedIn Learning 

- Moodle

5. Wi-Fi 

Over the summer the University has invested in upgrading the Wi-Fi network and updating wireless access points across campus to improve the service.  
 
The team has been monitoring the Wi-Fi at the start of term in order to understand service demand and identify any possible further opportunities for improvement. They are also looking at the provision of Wi-Fi in our outdoor spaces such as the Quad, car parks and hockey pitch for spring/summer next year.
