The Ki Society is an ideal place to make friends for life!
Ki Aikido is a Japanese martial art focused on the principles of non-aggression and conflict resolution.
Training consists of two aspects:
The first is Mind-Body coordination training which is achieved through practicing relaxation, postural stability training, stress management techniques, breathing exercises, meditation and much more. This aspect of training is ideal for students and will allow them to care for their mental health during their studies.
The second aspect of training is Aikido. Aikido is a modern martial art that evolve from the bujuitsu techniques of the ancient samurai warriors of Japan.
Aikido techniques are designed to use the opponents strength against them, allowing the Aikidoka to throw far bigger and stronger opponents without injuring them. The aikido training consists of; throws, pins and joint locks, break falls, pressure testing as part of mind-body coordination training and weapons training.
Ki Aikido is an ideal martial art for the student community as it will teach them how to actively be calm in stressful situations. It will also improve physical and mental health holistically.
Training time is Thursdays 7pm- 9pm.
