As my time in this role comes to a close, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting – on the laughs, the long nights, the meetings (so many meetings), and above all, the incredible students and staff I’ve had the honour to work alongside. It’s been an unforgettable couple of years, and I couldn’t leave without saying a huge thank you and sharing a few highlights.

Here are just some of the things I’m proud to have been part of:

- Championed the push for two graduation ceremonies per year, so students can finally walk the stage without having to wait months after finishing their degrees.

- Gave 14 graduation speeches across two years:

- Hosted the SU Awards twice and helped move the celebration to the Catrin Finch Centre:

- Travelled near and far, visiting partner institutions like Bloomsbury in London, Neath Port Talbot, and even SHRM in Singapore - not to mention regular trips to our satellite campuses:

- Took part in recruiting a brand-new SU CEO, as well as the University’s Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellor.

- Had the privilege of representing Wrexham University students not just here in Wrexham, but at national and regional conferences, on the Wrexham City Board, and even at the UK Quality Council.

- Delivered two major campaigns and several initiatives designed to make student life better - including My Body, My Choice; Savvy Students, Thrifty Business; The Career Closet; Breakfast Morning; Festive Feast and VCET Open House.

- Helped bring in the show pronouns on Microsoft Teams - a small but powerful step for inclusion.

- Added four new officer roles to Student Council, so we could better reflect and support the diverse student body we serve.

- Relaunched SHAG Week after nearly a decade!

- Played a key role in shaping our submission for the Quality Enhancement Review as a lead student voice.

- Brought to life the first-ever SU Panel at a Wrexham University Applicant Day - giving prospective students a true taste of what we stand for.

None of this would’ve been possible without the constant support, energy and ideas from the amazing student community. You’ve inspired me, challenged me, and made every day on the job feel like it mattered - and for that, I’ll always be grateful.
