You might’ve seen TOTM-branded period products in bathrooms across campus and not recognise the branding compared to bigger names such as Tampax. Well, read on to find out all about TOTM and why we're working with them!

TOTM is a South Wales based company that sells sustainable, ethical and organic period products; and it’s because of this that Wrexham Students’ Union has joined their Period Positive Workplace Scheme!

We are now working in partnership with them as part of our Period Dignity Campaign, which primarily involves making period products accessible in bathrooms across all of our campuses. As part of our Go Green Week (11th-15th March), we’ll be giving out TOTM sample kits and reusable period bundles at our Clothing Exchange event on Tuesday, the 12th of March.

Fun fact: TOTM was founded in 2016, the same year as Wrexham Students’ Union!

Their products are carbon neutral, through being manufactured in a renewable energy facility in Europe; using recycled cardboard packaging in their retail range which lowers greenhouse gas emissions by 28% compared to primary source boxes and using organic cotton instead of conventional cotton, rayon or plastic.

TOTM's workplace period products

TOTM boasts the following features on its range of period products:

  • Made with organic cotton
  • Designed to reduce waste
  • Free of sap & chlorine bleach
  • Free of fragrance and dyes
  • Suitable for sensitive skin

They were the first UK organic cotton period care brand to ditch plastic non-applicator tampons and actively recover ocean-bound plastic through non-plastic applicator tampon sales.

As part of the Period Positive Workplace Scheme, they even donate 1% of their online revenue and 10p from every box sold to Endometriosis UK. In the UK, 1 in 10 women and people assigned female at birth suffer with endometriosis, and the condition can take up to 8 years to be diagnosed. Endometriosis UK is the top charity supporting those who suffer from the condition.

We're proud to be able to simultaneously help students and our environment through working with TOTM, and will continue to find ways to improve the services we provide whilst keeping them as green as possible!
