What is the NSS I hear you say? Let me tell you! The NSS stands for the National Student Survey and is completely independent of the University. It may sound boring but it is actually a pretty powerful tool to get the voice of students heard! All eligible final year students from Universities across the country are asked to take part and it is an opportunity for you to tell the University about your student experience at Wrexham Glyndwr University. It is also an opportunity for you to shape the learning experience for those who come to study at the institution in years to come. This is where I come in! Watch the video below:
NSS Working Group
Alongside the Deputy Vice Chancellor, I am the co-chair of the University’s NSS Working Group which looks at the previous year’s results and we identify areas where positive change can be made. Members of the group include Associate Deans for Student Engagement, the Director of I.T and Learning Resources, Academic staff and members of the Students’ Union to name but a few. Why not take a look at the positive changes that have been made within the last 12 months by checking out our ‘What’s New WGU?’ page. Changes include, but not limited to:
As you can see, the University has made significant investment in improving the student experience and this is a direct result of your feedback. The NSS doesn’t take long to fill out (around 10 minutes) and you have the opportunity to feedback on a number of areas which includes teaching quality, academic support, learning resources and student voice.
Although the NSS is for final year students there are many other ways in which students can feedback such as through TellGlyn.co.uk, Student Voice Forums, Course Reps and by contacting us at the Students’ Union.
You should have received an email from Ipsos Mori (the company that manages the survey) explaining everything. If you think you are eligible but have not received an email you can contact me on supresident@glyndwr.ac.uk and I will look into it for you.
